The Loss of Your Pomeranian

Having your Pomeranian die and pass on to another place will bring the same feelings as losing a human family member. The sadness of a dog dieing is overwhelming.  There are almost no words that can provide comfort; it is a very sorrowful part of life.  They say that the circle of life must be completed; we are all here for only a short amount of time.  However, the grief one will feel can go beyond comprehension.

The bond that is formed between a person and a Pomeranian is unique and unfathomable.  It is this special bond that makes your interactions so rewarding and pleasurable; it is also what makes the death of your dog so difficult to accept and deal with.  When a canine family member dies, people will grieve in their own ways; there is no right and there is no wrong.  It is a personal experience that one must work through.

When Your Pomeranian Is Gone

If your dog died, this will be one of the saddest times of your life. The grief and sorrow can be overwhelming.  You may feel so sad that you can not move or speak. The first reaction you may have when your canine passes may be one of denial.  This may begin when you learn that your dog is seriously ill or injured. Often, the more sudden it happens, the more difficult it is to fully accept it. Saying that death is part of life is much easier to say than to accept and understand; these words do not help a lot when you are feeling so sad. While we all know death is inevitable for our dog, it is alright to allow yourself emotional space to permit the realization to sink in that your dog is no longer on this plane of existence.

You may be so sad that your dog died, that you feel angry at your family, your friends and even your veterinarian.  People who are attempting to cope with such huge amounts of emotional pain from losing their Pomeranian will often lash out at others.  You may find yourself saying things that you would normally not say.  You may say hurtful things that you will regret later.  When you lose a dog, you may feel so helpless, sad and depressed;  expressing anger may be all you are able to do at this time.

You may feel guilty yourself and be obsessed with thinking about what you could have done differently.  You may feel guilty regarding days that you were too busy to play with your Pomeranian. While it may seem hard to do, take a quiet moment to sit and think of all the wonderful moments you spent with your dog.  All the times your Pomeranian kissed you, lay happily while you patted them, ran with cheerfulness when you played with them.  These are the memories that your Pomeranian had of you and your relationship together.  Dogs are very loyal to their humans; your Pomeranian knows how much you love them.  We know this is such a sad time for you. Try to find some solace in the fact that your Pomeranian loved you very much and awaits for you in a place of glorious love and happiness.

If you have lost your Pomeranian, we feel for your sadness and sorrow.  We have trust that your Pomeranian will be waiting for you at the end of the tunnel of eternal light.

If your Pomeranian must leave you, you will need to decide what you wish to do with his or her body. You may not want to even think about this, but in the future you will be relieved that you thought for a while to choose a spot and type of ceremony that fits your feelings.  Do remember that most people believe that dogs have souls and do pass on to heaven.  You will want to take action regarding the body that your dog used to be inside.  The best way to this, is to choose what feels right to you.  Perhaps you have a special area in your yard, you may wish to place your Pomeranian there so that it is easy for you to visit and talk to your dog when you are missing them and feeling sad.  You may also decide to have your dog placed in a pet cemetery.  This can also be a way to help you get through this time as you will have a specific place to travel to when you miss your Pomeranian.

If you wish to do this with your Pomeranian,  you can simply search for your town's name and the words "pet cemetery".  If you wish to have your Pomeranian in your yard, you do not need to contact anyone.  You can perform a small ceremony if you wish or handle it any way that feels right to you.  If you are renting, you should ask your landlord for permission to so. Most likely, the answer will be a yes.

At some point, the sadness may ebb, and you will begin to think about getting a new Pomeranian.  Or if the dog that passed belonged to a friend or family member, you may think it is a good idea to get them a new dog.  If the dog belonged to someone else never bring them a new dog without talking to them about it.  If they are not ready to have a new Pomeranian, this will be an incredible amount of stress for them.

When a Pomeranian goes, he or she can never be replaced.  A new dog should not be thought of as a replacement, but rather a new addition to the family. When you or the owner of the dog is ready, it will be time to search for Pomeranians for sale.  There are many places in which to obtain a Pomeranian; you will want to take your time to choose just the right Pomeranian as the new member of your home.
